D V Marlow & Co are a well-established and highly respected quality practice based in Portchester, nr Portsmouth, Hampshire. We have strong links with the local community as well as being an active member of the local traders association. We feel that the personal approach is the way forward and emphasis is placed on becoming a member of your team. Our policy is to get to know you and your business. D V Marlow & Co is a small but fully competent team consisting of the proprietor, who is ably supported by qualified and experienced staff.

The Boss

Doreen Marlow BSc FCA MLIA(dip) founded the practice in 1991. After graduating from Leicester University in 1976, she trained and qualified with a large national firm of accountants. She gained further all-round experience working in both small and medium sized firms in Hampshire. Her expertise lies in being able to offer sound all-round business advice to clients, in a 'no nonsense' manner. She has a keen ear and a wicked sense of humour, and is always willing to listen (she even answers her calls!). E-mail her on Doreen@DVM.co.uk.

The Manager

Debbie Gavin FCCA studied for her Certified Accountancy exams at Allt-yr-yn College, Newport, South Wales. She has worked for local firms in the surrounding area before joining us as the manager in January 1998. Her main areas of expertise lie in small and medium sized businesses, but she also specializes in personal tax. Debbie defies her role as an accountant by having an exciting social life! She has many interests other than accountancy, as she is keen on scuba diving, mountain biking, skiing and travelling - although she hasn't yet managed to combine them all! The Senior

Linda Brick ACA received her degree in accountancy at Portsmouth Polytechnic. She joined a medium-sized firm in Southampton, where she qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1992. She remained with this firm for 15 years where she specialised in payroll. She joined us as an accounts senior in August 2003. She is involved with accounts preparation, personal tax, preparation of clients' VAT returns and payroll. Her interests outside of work include scuba diving and taking her mad springer spaniel on long walks! E-mail her on Linda@DVM.co.uk.

The Office Administrator

Louise Darley is a great all-rounder. She is well organised and efficient, as well as being approachable and friendly. Having started as the office administrator, she has progressed through her training to become an expert in Sage and Quickbooks accounting and payroll. Her main hobby is cookery, and her experimentation with cakes and chocolate make her an extremely popular member of staff! E-mail her on Louise@DVM.co.uk.

The Webmaster

Philip Marlow has been administering the site since 2002 and has many years' experience with both the Windows and Macintosh operating environments. Apart from web design, Phil's speciality is computer software programming and general network administration, as well as building and maintaining machines at home and work (though fortunately they don't break very often!). In his spare time, Phil likes to play the piano and tinker with his classic Volkswagen Camper Van, and he can also be found in the pub several evenings a week! E-Mail him on phil.marlow@gmail.com
